PHP Developer

Position Description

We are seeking a skilled PHP Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of web development and PHP programming, along with a passion for creating innovative and robust web applications. You will work closely with our web development and design teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

Responsibilities

  1. Web Application Development: Develop, test, and maintain web applications, websites, and other digital solutions using PHP and related technologies.
  2. Database Management: Design and implement database solutions, including data modeling, querying, and optimization using technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.
  3. Code Integration: Integrate data from various back-end services and databases into web applications. Ensure data security, availability, and reliability.
  4. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, front-end developers, and project managers, to deliver high-quality projects on time.
  5. Bug Fixing and Maintenance: Identify and fix bugs or issues in existing applications. Maintain and improve code quality and application performance.
  6. Security: Implement security best practices and measures to protect web applications and data from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  7. Performance Optimization: Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability. Implement caching, code profiling, and other performance enhancement techniques.
  8. Version Control: Use version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage and maintain codebase.
  9. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for code, processes, and procedures.

Requirements

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  2. PHP Proficiency: Strong knowledge of PHP and its related web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
  3. Database Skills: Proficiency with relational database management systems, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  4. Frameworks: Experience with PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter) is a plus.
  5. Version Control: Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.
  6. Web Development Tools: Understanding of front-end technologies, such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery.
  7. Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  8. Coding Standards: Knowledge of coding standards, best practices, and code optimization.
  9. Teamwork: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, including the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  10. Security Awareness: Awareness of web application security best practices and common vulnerabilities.
  11. Portfolio: A portfolio of previous projects and code samples may be required.

Additional Skills (Optional):

  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
  • Knowledge of RESTful API development.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Vue.js).
